The Academy of Technology is a leading engineering college in West Bengal, India.[1] To meet the growing demand of technical manpower and in view of fiscal constraints at the government level, the Ananda Educational Development and Charitable Organisation decided to supplement the State government’s efforts in setting up new engineering colleges by establishing the Academy of Technology in September 2003. The college is affiliated with West Bengal University of Technology(WBUT), and all the programmes are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The institute offers full-time B.Tech degree in various fields of Engineering/Technology and MCA apart from Ph.D programme under the guidance of reputed professors of AOT with the affiliation of WBUT. The students of the college are known as AOTians. [2]

The institute offers degrees in engineering & technology - B. Tech. and MCA. All courses are duly approved by the All India Council for Technical Education AICTE, Government of India and the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal. The Institute is affiliated to the West Bengal University of Technology WBUT.
The institute is currently offering the following seven B.Tech courses along with one postgraduate course:
- B.Tech inElectronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)- 4 years
- B.Tech in Instrumentation and Control Engineering (ICE)- 4 years
- B.Tech in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (AEIE)- 4 years
- B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (EE)- 4 years
- B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (ME)- 4 years
- B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)- 4 years
- B.Tech in Information Technology (IT)- 4 years
- Masters in Computer Application(M.C.A)- 3 years
Admission to the B.Tech courses in the college is on the basis of the position secured by the candidate in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination and All India Engineering Entrance Examination.
Apart from above the institute also has the following departments for supplementing the needs of the various courses taught here:

The institute is known for its lush green eco-friendly campus and buildings of modern architecture. The college provides excellent and separate hostel facilities for both boys and girls. A vast range of cultural, educational, athletic and social activities are available to AOT students. The campus life includes Arcadia-the Campus festival, Techtics-the techfest, Humatronics-the in-campus talent search program and the annual Sports. Various national and international conferences are held frequently in the college.
